Contributor Copies

September 8, 2011

Hello all,

We hope your summer has gone well. We are back in full swing with classes here in Washington, so we’ve been busy. We will be issuing the contributor copies in rounds to keep costs down. We have received our first shipment of contributor copies and will be sending them out promptly (by the end of next week) to the addresses we have. We expect another shipment shortly. Thank you for your patience and understanding; we are busy folks.

Update

June 8, 2011

Hello folks,

We are pleased to announce that the journal is finally done :). It will be available within 2-3 days on Amazon.com. As soon as we receive the link we will post it here. Meanwhile we are working on the e-book version and for those who made it in, look for your free contributor copies to arrive sometime around the end of summer. Contributors, be sure to send us your current mailing address.

Thanks,
Breadline Press

UPDATE

May 5, 2011

Hello all,

We continue to appreciate your patience.  We have (we hope)  finally finished editing the last proof copy of the anthology.  We have to wait about a week to confirm the proof’s finality, and then the piece will be available on-line.  We are sorry about the wait.  As we are two busy academics, this is a labor of love that must be pushed aside at times in order for us to do our (paying) jobs. 🙂  So, roughly ten more days to go.

Hope all is well with you and yours,

Breadline Press

Congratulations!

January 12, 2011

Hello everyone!  We have finally confirmed the writers who will be appearing in the anthology.  Congratulations to those who have been accepted, and many thanks to all who submitted.

We have had some confusion with some submissions and their status.  If you are not on the acceptance list, you have not made it.  Please remember that this being done by e-mail.  In sending out letters we had some e-mails that bounced back.  Luckily, none of our acceptance letters bounced.  Our apologies, but we simply do not have the resources to follow up on bounced e-mails.

Accepted writers will receive a printed copy.  We expect the anthology to be published sometime around the end of March.  We appreciate everyone’s patience and will be in touch with any edit requests and a possible announcement for the next anthology shortly.  Thank you!

Hello everyone,

Call for Prose Submissions

April 9, 2010

Call for Prose – Fiction and Nonfiction

Breadline Press is now accepting submissions for an anthology of West Coast prose, both fiction and nonfiction. By West Coast we include Washington State, Oregon, California, western Canada, western Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. English language only, please (for now.) We are always willing to read non-qualifying works if they are well written, but our preferences lie with our neighbors. (You could always consider moving!)

  • Please send previously unpublished works only. We will accept novel chapters if they are self contained.
  • No particular word count required (though keep in mind that this is an anthology.)
  • Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
  • Electronic submission only! Please submit in .doc, .docx, or .rtf formats, only. Include the text as an attachment with a cover letter. Include the word count in the cover letter, please, and a brief description of the work (fiction, essay, memoir, etc.)
  • Email submissions to:   breadlinepress@gmail.com
  • Submissions must be received by August 15th, 2010 to be considered for this anthology.
  • Payment for this project will be two copies of the anthology.

Thanks and good luck.
